Greetings all! Good news abounds, please be sure to check out the Februar 2007 issue of The Cross Stitcher and turn to page 12. Can you guess what’s there? Ok, I can’t stand the suspense. Me! My design is on page 12, and it’s called The Red House Sampler, which wasn’t my title but hey, they bought the rights, they published it, they can call it whatever they want as long as they spell my name right LOL. I had originally called it First Snowfall, but I understand that the title doesn’t really GO with February. So that’s fine. And I have to say, it looks fabulous. Can I say that? Can I toot my own horn? Does anyone mind?
If you haven’t seen the magazine yet you can see my red house online at The Cross Stitcher. Be sure to check the issue out, there are quite a few pretty things in there.
Happy stitching!

The December issue of The Gift of Stitching published one of my patterns. It’s called Catch a Falling Flake. I was honoured when the Editor contacted me and asked me to be a part of the Christmas issue and wanted a special ornament just for that issue.
Almost before I had even seen the pattern myself, a few people had commented they were already stitching it! Julia was kind enough to allow me to post a picture of her completed stitching for my blog. Thank you Julia!
If you’ve missed out on this pattern you can purchase backissues as well as subscriptions right from The Gift of Stitching website.

What a great start to the year as well! It’s a gorgeous day, +1 celcius and the sun is shining. At this time of year anytime the sun is shining it’s a good day as our days are so short. Makes you long for the 24 hour midnight sun during the summer.
First news, The Gift of Stitching has published a pattern of mine in their December 2006 issue called Catch a Falling Flake. The Gift of Stitching is an online magazine with monthly downloads available at $12USD for 12 issues. How can you miss with those prices. I hope to have some pictures of my pattern soon to post of Catch a Falling Flake as I’ve heard some stitchers have already finished it.

Second news, speaking of The Gift of Stitching, back in the summer the magazine published my pattern Purple Posies. It’s a real treasure of mine. Lynn D is one of my most ardent supporters and just a joy to hear from. She just the other day completed her version of my Purple Posies pattern, changing up the colours a bit using threads by Carrie’s Threads. She used Whini, Lilac, Lemon Zest, and Irish Kiss.
Keep up the great work Lynn and keep in touch!
If anyone stitches any of my work I’d love to share your pictures on my blog. It really lifts your day when someone has taken the time to include a small part of you in their life. Just email me at YukonViv@moose-mail.com or leave a comment here and I’ll get in touch with you.
Now that I’ve been back working out of the home, finding time to stitch and design comes hard and sometimes I wonder if it’s worth the time and bother, but when I hear from people like Lynn, well it just makes it all worthwhile.
Merry Stitching and Happy New Year everyone!
