Tonight was a Bernina Club class at the local quilt shop. There is a monthly class to help you get the most out of your machine. Learn the different features and try new things.
Well tonight was couching and we made a notebook cover.
Somehow, I managed, while smoothing the netting (tule I think it was) as I was couching it down, to…well there is no easy way to say it, I managed to sew my finger.
Yes, it is possible. Ripped a big hole/slice in my finger.
Boy are those needles sharp, the machine didn’t even slow down!
So note to self and to everyone out there that sews, watch your fingers at all times when sewing. It’s a dangerous sport.

Ok, I realize I should have made all of these posts on one but it wasn’t until after I hit publish that I would think…oh I should have said….so please bear with me LOL.
This is part of our Canadian RR. I stitched the little guy with the baseball hat.
This is Dina’s RR and I’ve mailed it on to Deanna and have received the next instalment already. Can’t wait to get stitching that!
And more about my quilting, I have signed up for a tablerunner class in February (featuring curves) and a full quilt in March (made from layer cakes!).
These fabrics are for the table runner. 5 fat quarters are needed and a backing fabric. Apparently I’m in an Asian frame of mind. I just love the bright, beautiful colours.

And this is my layer cake that will be for my quilt in March, the quilt pattern is called Vanilla Latte.
I can’t wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!

January’s bag class was the origami folded bag! Isn’t it wonderful? I had sooo much fun stitching this one. There was enough fabric to do the bag twice, so I sewed the second bag with the golden carp/purple fabric was on the inside. Unfortunately my picture isn’t too great, but I’ll post a picture when I get a good one of it.
I must make more of these! I think everyone I know is getting an origami bag for Christmas LOL. Its all folded so there are two pockets on the inside as well.
Happy baggin’! Viv

I decided I needed to branch out, try something new, and overcome my fear of the sewing machine!
I joined a quilt start class at Bears Paw Quilts (our local quilt shop here in the Yukon) before Christmas and fell hard. This is just so much fun! Here is my finished table runner made using the rail fence method.

I’ve already signed up for more classes for the winter/spring term. One day I hope to complete enough classes to graduate from quilt school!
