Olympic Torch Relay comes to town!
Categories: General
Can you feel the excitement? The torch is coming, the torch is coming!
Here we are waiting for the last hand off before the celebrations at Shipyard park. (this was last night, November 3rd)

We were waiting for Ramish Farris to take the torch on it’s last leg. Ramish is a local hero. He contracted polio as a child. Last year he rode a hand bicycle across Canada to raise awareness and $$ for research.

And check this out!!!!!! One of the torch bearers let the girls pose with her and let Jennifer and Lisa hold it! They were so excited. Jennifer could have stayed all night. While Lisa enjoyed herself, she was more concerned with how she was going to fit her homework in before bedtime. Kids, so different LOL.
Happy day everyone, from one proud Canadian.

Hi Vivian, that is so cool that your girls got to hold and touch the torch…life experiences and stories for them to cherish - How exciting!
It’s coming through our little small town on Jan 19th - our guild is making a banner for it - can’t wait!

Hi Viv -
The girls sure do look excited; and it was so nice of the bearer to let them hold the torch. Those are the little things that go a long way. The flame is going to be here on the 27th and I plan to be at the ceremonies.
